Week 7 Recap: CourtKings still undefeated after big road win; Rangers stay on heels; Flash stop Air Strikers win streak; Stars of Week 7; & More!

Heres the recap on what went down in week 7 of the Midwest Basketball League:

CourtKings halt Vision winning streak, stay undefeated in the MBL Game Of the Week
Cedar Valley showed once again, that when threatened with adversity, they will rise to the occasion as they stopped the Fort Wayne Vision and their 6 game winning streak by a score of 108-101 in Fort Wayne.
Raheem Tyner (26) and Raijon Kelly (23) did the heavy lifting in the scoring aspect, and the Court Kings had 3 guys in double figure rebounds as they pounded the Vision inside all night.

Despite a big crowd rooting the hottest team aside of Cedar Valley, the Court Kings was able to get a big w and move to 6-0. Fort Wayne falls to 7-2.

Cedar Valley stays tied for 1st with the Minnesota Rangers. The Vision suffer their 2nd loss of the season.



Air Strikers PG Tracey McGuire glides to the basket vs Flash 
Flash finish big weekend with upset win at Dayton
The Kentucky Flash used a big weekend to spring back into the MBL East race with a big win at home vs the Minneota Pitbulls (111-100) and then going on the road to defeat the East leading Air Strikers by a score of 116-115.

Guard Pat McGee led the Flash against the Pitbulls with a triple double (16pts, 11 reb, 10ass, 4 stls) with a great all around effort.



 On Sunday the Flash were led by Star G Devaughn Buntyons (32 pts, 7 3's), Jeremy Williams (31, 9reb, 8 dimes) and Antwuan Phillips, who came alive late to help the Flash hold off Dayton in a hotly contetsted game which featured multiple lead changes in the final 4 minutes of the game.
Coach Charles Hickman was "Very happy" with the effort and outcome, as the Air Strikers spanked the Flash in Kentucky a month ago.  The Air Strikers were led by Dewayne Martin, who dropped 29 on the night.



 "My boys played hard and showed heart." Hickman said after the game. The Flash now sit at 5-3 while the Air Strikers fall to 4-1. It was the first win for Hickman against the Air Strikers on their court in his coaching history.




Broncos smack Springfield
The Minnesota Broncos got back on track with a big 119-103 win against the Springfield Panthers in Springfield. The Panthers came out strong, but Minnesota rode its stars in the 2nd half to a breakaway win, as they try to stay in the race for a division crown. Lemeul Doe was unstoppable, dropping 40 with 5 dimes and 6 3's to match; Akeem Cubie, and Jamar Smith help spearhead the offense for Minnesota.
Denzel Walker dropped 41 (7-14 3's) but it was not enough for Springfield. The Broncos now sit at 4-3.



Rangers handling business against Dream


Rangers handle Dream
The Minnesota Rangers was able to outlast the Indiana Dream 128-120 and stay undefeated and on the heels of the Court Kings in the MBL West.

While the Dream was up for the battle, in Muncie Southside Gym, the Rangers showed poise in pulling out the big win on the road, and now sits at 6-0 on the season. Indiana falls to 2-4.

The Rangers have their sights set on a MBL Championship, and have came out the gate taking no prisoners in the early season.



Lions defeat Central Indiana 113-107
The Lincoln Lions got a much needed W this week with a home victory over Central Indy as the Lions used a balanced effort and late execution to get it done. Lincoln grabs their first W on the season (1-5) while Central Indy falls to 0-5.

Robert Clamese (27 pts, 5reb) & Marcus Williams (22 & 4 reb) led the Lions .
Central Indy was paced by Clinton Cunningham and Aubrey Patterson who both scored 28.






Indiana Fury unload on Panthers
145-93 The Indiana Fury used a offensive explosion to run past the Panthers 145-93. It was their best effort on the season, and the Fury hope this can kickstart them to a good 2nd half of the season. It stops a losing streak and gets them closer to the .500 mark (2-5). Springfield falls to 1-6 after winning its season opener.

Knights defeat Wizards  

Chicago defeated Milwaukee 140-101  at the (Southland Center) in Chicago as the Knights played at another level early and late to cruise to the win. The Knights improve to 2-1 while Milwaukee falls to 0-3.



MBL Stars of Week 7

Raheem Tyner  - Cedar Valley Court Kings
Tyner was the best player on the court and led the Champs with 26 in a big win over Fort Wayne

DeVaughn Buntyons  - Kentucky Flash
Buntyons led the Flash in scoring (32) with 7 3's in the big win @Dayton.

Lemuel Doe - Minnesota Broncos
 Doe was unstoppable in a 40 point outburst in a win.

Pat McGee  - Kentucky Flash
McGee dropped a triple double on Saturday and 20+ on Sunday in 2 big wins.


Robert Clamese  -  Lincoln Lions
Clamese led the Lions in scoring (27) in winning their 1st game of the season.

Denzel Walker - Springfield Panthers
 Walker dropped 41 on the night in a loss.
