MBL Top 5 (After Week 10); Big Games for Week 11; MVP Candidates

Here's the MBL Top 5 After Week 10, as we pass  the midseason and hit the stretch run for the teams in this epic season so far:

(1) Cedar Valley Court Kings   - 12-0   The CourtKings have shown they are the premiere squad in the MBL. With another big win over TC Elite (110-81) and a easy win over the Minnesota Broncos (147-117) the Court Kings looked prime to defend their crown in Texas in July.

(2) Fort Wayne Vision         - 9-2     Fort Wayne has not let up off the gas, continuing to show why they are the top team in the MBL East. The Vision put a thumping on the Indiana Fury (139-101) to continue its onward push towards the top spot in the East.
Is this the year of the Vision?

(3) Kentucky Flash           -   9-3     The Flash are the MBL's hottest team aside of the Court Kings, as they have won 6 straight and have pushed for the top spot in the MBL East. A huge game this weekend @ Dayton will show just how far the Flash have come; Is this the year the Flash contend for a MBL Title?

(4) Minnesota Rangers  -  8-2    Minnesota had been on a roll before being knocked off by the champs in a tough game at home to Cedar Valley (126-117). But make no mistake, the Rangers still have the firepower and coaching to reach Texas and the Championship Game. Will the Rangers regroup this weekend?

(5) Dayton Air Strikers   -  5-3    The Air Strikers finally got back on track with a big win on the road to stop a 3-game losing streak. Dayton had close to its full roster back, and it showed in a 134-109 win victory over the Indiana Dream. Dayton will face the team who started their losing streak this weekend in a battle for playoff position as they host the red hot Kentucky Flash.

Key Games for Week 11

Kentucky Flash   (9-3)                     @  Dayton Air Strikers (5-3)
In what could be the game of the Week, can the Flash continue its red hot streak? Or will the Air Strikers regain momentum that they lost when the Flash downed the Strikers in the last game? Series is tied 1-1 this season. With both teams having MVP type players leading the charge, who will lead the troops to victory?

Cedar Valley Court Kings (12-0)   @ Lincoln Lions   (4-6)
Quite simply, can anyone stop the Court Kings? They have ran through everyone in the league, but this might be a interesting test, as the Lions have started to play well, especially at home.
Can the Court Kings continue the undefeated run in Lincoln?

Fort Wayne Vision  (9-2)                 @ Central Indiana Crusaders  (3-7)
The Vision, much like Cedar Valley, has been riding a wave of victories and will face a opponent on the road who will be ready for the challenge. Can the Crusaders pull off the upset? Or will the East Leading Vision continue to roll?

Minnesota Rangers  (8-2)                @ TC Elite   (5-3)           (Branding)
In what will be a battle as well, can the Championship minded Rangers go on the road and take out a game TC Elite squad? TC Elite lost a close one to the champs, but can they regroup against another Championship quality type of team?

MVP Candidates:
Here are our Top MBL MVP  Candidates (In no particular order) -

Raijon Kelly   G-F   Cedar Valley Court Kings
(18 ppg, 6reb, 5 dimes, 2.5 stls, 1blk; 60% FG, 63% 3pt; 85% FT)
Kelly does it all for Cedar Valley, and leads a balanced effort for the undefeated Court Kings.
His ability to play multiple positions is key for the Court Kings as they roll through the season undefeated. One of the leaders on a championship team.

Reggie Lytle   G   Fort Wayne Vision
(26ppg, 6 rpg, 4.5 dimes, 1.2 stls 45% FG, 40% 3pt, 87% FT)
Lytle has shown over the years that he is a clutch player, like last year; With his all around play, he will be a force for the rest of the season for the Vision. His ability to know what the team needs and deliver has been crucial to the teams success.

Joe Thomasson, G  Dayton Air Strikers
(32ppg, 5 dimes, 3 stls, 2 blks, 60% FG, 68% 3pt)
Thomasson has led the Air Strikers to 5 wins in his 5 games, and without him? 3 losses in 3 games. Thomasson has all the tools to be the MVP of the League. Will he be around to finish? He has been picked up by the NBDL and overseas in his stints with the league already.

Devaughn Taylor  G  Kentucky Flash
(27.5 ppg, 7 rpg, 4apg, 2 spg, 1 bpg, 46% FG, 41% 3 pt, 80 FG)
Taylor, who is a fast rising player, has helped lead the Flash on a big winning streak. With a offer in Canada already in tow, can Taylor continue to the top of the MBL Charts? Taylor is a explosive combo guard who has transformed himself from a dunk legend into a serious MVP threat.

Rochester Rogers   F   Minnesota Rangers
(20 ppg, 7 rpb, 3apg, 1spg, 45% FG)
Rogers is the centerpiece of another nice squad as the Rangers compete for  a MBL Title. Rogers, a Forward,  has been a force for the last 2 seasons, and could led the Rangers to a Title Shot.

Jeremy Williams  F   Kentucky Flash
(22ppg, 11rpg, 7apg, 3spg, 1.4 bpg, 45% FG, 87% FT)
Williams is a do it all player for the Flash, and could be the most valuable player in the League. His ability to keep the Flash going when things break down has been vital for Kentucky during this streak. A real stat sheet stuffer every game.

Robert Clamese   F  Lincoln  Lions
(28ppg, 6rpg, 70% FG, 50% 3pt. 88% FT)
Clamese has been the best player on the Lincoln squad who seems to be finding their way. Shooting a lights out 70% from the field, the 6'7 forward has been a consistent weapon all season. Can Clemese knock off the champs this weekend and push his MVP campaign?

Fred Ford   G  Indiana Fury
(33ppg, 4rpg, 6apg, 1spg, 52% FG, 53% 3pt, 85% FT)
Ford, a top G for the Fury, has been on a tear in the 1st half of the season. Ford leads the League in scoring, is the top 3-pt shot maker in the league, and is also averaging 3:1 ratio on assists to turnovers, one of the best in the league. Once he gets on, watch out.

Steve Smith   C  Indiana Dream
(25 ppg, 13 rbg, 2 bpg, 60% FG, 70% FT)
Smith, the big man with the "Old School Style", has led the Dream in scoring, in the top 5 in the MBL in rebounding, and has held the team down in times of need. His post play is something to watch, and is a real force inside for the Dream.

Aundre Hicks  G-F  Cedar Valley Court Kings
(17ppg, 9 rpg, 6.5 apg, 1.5 spg, 55% FG, 77% FT)
Hicks is another versatile player for the Court Kings who deserve MVP consideration. A big time player, Hicks can run the offense or create for himself. Hicks, impressively, is averaging almost 10 boards a game as a guard, which is unheard of. He keeps the energy up and his play has spearheaded the Court Kings multidimensional attack.
